The Cook Islands Curriculum includes Early Childhood Education (ECE) and curriculum statements across key learning areas including Languages (Māori and English), Science, Mathematics, The Arts (Visual and Performing Arts), Health and Physical Well-being, Social Science and Enterprise. Alongside these, the Curriculum Advisory Unit (CAU) supports the development of complementary learning and teaching programmes such as marine studies, bilingual education, literacy, numeracy, inclusive education, careers and guidance, and life-skills.

The implementation of the curriculum is supported through a range of approaches tailored to local contexts, ensuring both effectiveness and sustainability. This is delivered by the advisory team through professional development at multiple levels, including international, regional, national, school-wide and individual settings, using methods such as workshops, mentoring, observation, collaboration and structured training programmes.

Please note: The Cook Islands Curriculum is continually reviewed and updated. The dates shown alongside documents reflect the most current versions in use. Earlier versions are retained on this page for reference purposes.
