Te Reinga Akataunga’anga – Scholarship Programme        

Te Reinga Akataunga’anga, the revised scholarship and study support programme of the Cook Islands Government,administered by the Ministry of Education (MoE) was developed in the later part of 2016 and implemented from 2017. 


There are number of options available under the scholarship Programme:

International Scholarship Options

Option 1:     Starter Pack

This is applicable to first year University students who have either over 200 rank scores or B+ average GPA. Return airfares and an establishment grant  are covered under this opportunity. 

Option 2:     Full International Scholarship 

This is applicable to students who are on their second year of University studies. Return airfares and fortnightly allowance will be covered. 

Option 3:     Success Grant 

Students
can claim 50% reimbursement of the papers they have passed at the end of each
semester. 
This
opportunity is for private students only who are not on full scholarship. 

 Option 4:   Returning Student Grant/Cook Islander Grant

This category assists Cook Islanders who have completed their studies privately and have returned with employment opportunities. 

Domestic Scholarship Options 

Option 1: Domestic Full Scholarship 

Students with rank scores over 200 or B+ average GPA are eligible for tuition fees and fortnightly for taking up courses locally.  

                Option 2: Study Grant

Students are eligible for tuition fees and text books for courses completed domestically. This opportunity is for part-time studies. 

Option 3: Government Funded First Year Fees Free

Applicable to students who are based domestically and are enrolled with a recognised Educational Institute either locally or overseas for their first year of study in undergraduate programmes or equivalent level of studies only.
