2023 TE REINGA AKATAUNGA’ANGA | COOK ISLANDS TERTIARY STUDY SUPPORT PROGRAMME
RETURNING COOK ISLANDER GRANT
The Tertiary Education Committee, through the Cook Islands Ministry of Education, is now accepting applications under the Returning Cook Islander Grant.
This is a reimbursement opportunity of the tuition component of eligible candidate’s New Zealand student loan on a per annum basis. The Returning Cook Islander Grant is open to Cook Islanders or Permanent Residents holding a New Zealand passport who successfully completed a tertiary qualification in 2020 and 2021 privately in New Zealand, and has returned to the Cook Islands and engaged in full time employment.
To be eligible for the Returning Cook Islander Grant, applicants:
- Must be a Cook Islander or hold Permanent Residency with a New Zealand passport
- Have recently completed a qualification in New Zealand (in 2020 and 2021) and has been resident and employed in the Cook Islands for at least one year prior to applying.
- Must be actively contributing towards their student loan prior to applying
Students who have successfully completed their studies in 2022 will not be eligible to apply this year.
